These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern the free sight-unseen quote service ("Service") offered by Wattle Plumbing & Gas, a Queensland-licensed plumbing and gas contractor (QBCC Licence: 15438001), based in Caloundra, Queensland ("we", "us", "Jay"). By submitting a quote request you confirm you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.

1. What the Free Sight-Unseen Quote Includes

Our free sight-unseen quote provides an indicative price estimate based on the information and description you supply when submitting your request. The estimate:

  • Is provided at no cost to you and incurs no call-out fee.
  • Represents our best assessment of the likely scope and cost of work based on the information provided.
  • Is prepared and communicated personally by Jay, the licenced plumber and business owner.
  • Will be delivered to your preferred contact method (phone call, SMS, or email) typically within 1 business day of receipt during business hours (Monday to Friday, 7:00am–5:00pm AEST).

2. Sight-Unseen Estimates Are Not Fixed-Price Quotes

A sight-unseen estimate is an indicative price range only. It is explicitly not a fixed-price or firm quote. The actual cost of work may differ from the estimate for any reason, including but not limited to:

  • Inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading information provided at the time of the request.
  • Site conditions that differ materially from those described.
  • Hidden defects, pre-existing damage, or additional scope discovered once work commences.
  • Materials or components unavailable at the time of estimate that must be substituted.
  • Regulatory requirements identified during the site inspection or during the work.
  • Access difficulties not disclosed at the time of the estimate.

3. Site Inspection Required for a Fixed Price

A confirmed, fixed-price quote can only be provided after a physical site inspection by our licensed plumber. The site inspection:

  • Is conducted in person at the property where work is to be performed.
  • Is provided free of charge for standard residential and commercial plumbing and gas jobs within our service area.
  • May incur a fee for complex, specialised, or remote jobs — this will be clearly communicated before the inspection is booked.
  • Places no obligation on either party to proceed with the work.

4. Response Time

We aim to respond to all quote requests typically within 1 business day of receiving your submission. This commitment:

  • Applies during standard business hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am–5:00pm AEST.
  • Does not apply on weekends, Queensland public holidays, or during periods of exceptionally high demand.
  • Is a target, not a guaranteed service level. We will always endeavour to respond as quickly as possible.
  • Assumes the contact details you provide are correct and active.

For urgent or emergency situations, please call us directly rather than submitting a form.

5. Emergency and After-Hours Callouts

Emergency and after-hours callouts (outside standard business hours, weekends, and public holidays) may attract a callout fee or after-hours loading in addition to standard labour rates. Any applicable after-hours fees will be clearly communicated before work commences.

6. Quote Validity

All written quotes issued following a site inspection are valid for 30 days from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated in writing. After this period, prices may be subject to change due to material price variations, labour rate adjustments, or changes in site conditions.

7. No Obligation

Receiving a sight-unseen estimate or a formal site inspection quote places no obligation on either party to proceed with the work. You are free to obtain other quotes. We are free to decline work for any lawful reason.

8. Accuracy of Information Provided

You are responsible for ensuring that all information provided in your quote request is accurate, complete, and not misleading. If material information is withheld or provided inaccurately and this affects the cost of work, Wattle Plumbing & Gas reserves the right to revise the estimate or quote accordingly.

You are welcome to send photos to assist Jay in assessing the scope of work — via text to 0407 990 987 or email to info@wattleplumbing.com.au. Any photographs provided are treated as confidential and will not be shared with third parties without your consent.

10. QBCC Licensing and Compliance

All plumbing and gas work performed by Wattle Plumbing & Gas is carried out by a QBCC-licensed tradesperson (Licence: 15438001) in accordance with the Plumbing and Drainage Act 2018 (Qld), the Gas Supply Act 2003 (Qld), and all applicable Queensland standards and codes. Compliance certificates are issued where required by law.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian Consumer Law, Wattle Plumbing & Gas's liability in respect of any estimate or quote that is not proceeded with is limited to nil. Where work is contracted and performed, our liability is governed by the terms of the separate work agreement between the parties.

12. Privacy

Personal information collected through the quote request form is used solely for the purpose of providing you with an estimate and communicating about your enquiry.
